Full-stack developer
Help us build Index, a directory of everyone who shapes the built environment. You will work across a Laravel and MySQL back end and a fast, server-rendered front end with Blade, Tailwind and a little JavaScript. Expect to own features end to end: profiles, search, imports, emails and the admin tools our team uses every day. We value clear, tested code, careful data handling and an eye for good design. Experience with PHP 8, Laravel, SQL and Git is essential; an interest in architecture and design is a real plus. Tell us about something you built and are proud of.

Content writer
Write the stories behind the people, practices and institutions on Index. You will research and write profiles, guides to schools and programmes, short features and newsletters, working closely with the ArchitectureLive! editorial team. We are looking for someone who writes clearly and accurately, checks facts, meets deadlines and can explain design ideas to a wide audience without jargon. A background in architecture, planning, design or journalism helps. Share two or three pieces you have written, ideally about the built environment, and tell us what you would like to write for Index.

Copywriter
Find the right few words for Index. You will write the copy that invites architects, studios, organisations and schools to join: website pages, emails, buttons, social posts and campaign lines. We want copy that is warm, sharp and confident, never salesy, and that respects a professional audience. You should be able to write many versions quickly, take feedback well and keep a consistent voice across everything we publish. Experience with brands, startups or the design world is welcome. Send us a short portfolio and a headline you would write for Index.

Beta tester
Use Index before anyone else and help us make it better. As a beta tester you will try new features on your phone and computer, follow simple test steps, look for anything confusing or broken, and tell us clearly what happened. You do not need technical skills, just curiosity, patience and an eye for detail. Architects, designers, students and educators are especially welcome, because you know what you would want from a directory like this. Testers get early access, a say in what we build next, and credit at launch.
